I'd like to review Volume 1

Answer: Pharoah Menkauhor

Shishaq was an Egyptian Pharoah (at least, that is his name in the Bible, he is usually known as Shoshenq I).

Amenhotep II

I'd like to review volume 5.

How about the Epic of Gilgamesh?

Neco

Ramesses II or Seti I.

ANE Text: the Amarna letters.

KAR 44 - An Assyrian Magician's Manual

Ugaritic Epic of Aquat (see Coogan, 1978)

Lugalbanda and the Thunderbird

Hammurabi's Code. Can I do Volume 5?

Tutankhamun:

King Tut (King Tut)
Now when he was a young man,
He never thought he'd see
People stand in line to see the boy king.

(King Tut) How'd you get so funky?
(funky Tut) Did you do the monkey?
Born in Arizona,
Moved to Babylonia (king Tut).

(king Tut) Now, if I'd known
they'd line up just to see him,
I'd trade in all my money
And bought me a museum. (king Tut)

Buried with a donkey (funky Tut)
He's my favorite honkey!
Born in Arizona,
Moved to Babylonia (king Tut)

Dancin' by the Nile, (Disco Tut)
The ladies love his style, (boss Tut)
Rockin' for a mile (rockin' Tut)
He ate a crocodile.

He gave his life for tourism.
Golden idol!
He's an Egyptian
They're sellin' you.

Now, when I die,
now don't think I'm a nut,
don't want no fancy funeral,
Just one like ole king Tut. (king Tut)

He coulda won a Grammy,
Buried in his Jammies,
Born in Arizona, moved to Babylonia,
He was born in Arizona, got a condo made of stone-a,
King Tut! (lyrics by Steve Martin)

I hope this is "unique" enough. If not, welllll excuuusssse meeee!!!
Thanks and if chosen I would like to review volume 3.

Hatshepsut the "female pharaoh"

My favorite of the Pharoah's is easily Amenhotep III, later named Akhenaton. The whole dilemma over his religion is still a fascination.

Ramesses I (Menpehtyre) 1295 - 1294

NERGAL AND ERESHKIGAL

Could I do volume 5?

Jimmy Doyle

OOOPS! Correction to that last comment. I meant "Amenhotep IV"! My bad.

ANE text: Gilgamesh

(i.e., the Epic of Gilgamesh)

I'd like to review Volume 5.

Merneptah (1213 BC to 1203 BC), son of Ramesses II

Babylonian Theodicy

What about the first comment chastising you guys for misspelling "Pharaoh"? I'm sure the ancient librarians of Nuzi are rolling in their graves. You better be glad Enkidu isn't reading this or he would go ape on you.

Or was that a trick question? If it is, then I will answer:

There were no Egyptian Pharoahs, only Egyptian Pharaohs such as Thutmoses, Mernepthah and the always-fun-to-say Shishak! ... Read More

Now send me my Vol.1 to review in the Discipleship Dojo! (gsdisciple.blogspot.com)

Heliopolis Pyramid Text

Senusret III

Answer: The Code of the Nesilim

I'd like to review Vol 4

Kilamuwa of Y'Dy-Sam'Al

Contact me if you want a source for it...
And I would love vol. 5

"The Dialogue of Pessimism": A Mesopotamian text dating to 1200 BC. It is somewhat comparable to Ecclesiastes, but concludes with suicide as opposed to a determination to live in covenantal faithfulness to God with an eschatological hope in God to "bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, including good and evil." (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14). 'The Dialogue of Pessimism,' I suppose, would be the secular counterpart to the book of Ecclesiastes.

Sumerian King List

The Myth of Zu;
Volume 1 please.

ANE text: Annals of Sargon I.

Hetepsekhemwy (Hotepsekhemwy)

Enuma of different ANE texts come to mind, so hopefully Elish one might be clever enough for you. I just got out of a class about Babylonian Legends of Creation, but at the moment it's all one big Deluge causing my brains to turn to Gilgamish. Maybe if I get the Seven Evil Spirits out, you'll send me one?
I would like Vo.1

Khufu

I'd love volume 1

I would love to take part in this....

How bout the Hittite legend..."The Telepinus Myth"

I'd love vol. 5!

ANE text - Adapa and the Food of Life

My fav pharaoh: Sekhemib-Perenmaat

Vol V for me please!

I would go with Amenemhat III. I would like vol 2.

ah, looks like I was a few entries too late.

Vol. 1.

The Baal Cycle.

Vol. 1

Darius 1

Scorpion (possibly the same as Narmer). I suspect I'm too late to qualify, but if perchance I do, I'd like volume 1.

Sean

And here I thought Zibbcot was Pharaoh some time or another...

Instruction of Amenemope

I'd like volume 2
