Excellent, very practical post. The same holds true in the Hebrew. Idioms can also be found in the lexical entries of BDB (Brown Driver Briggs lexicon) and HALOT (Hebrew and Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament), etc.

By the way, how likely would idioms also be discussed in grammars (in addition to lexicons), since idioms often border on syntactical issues as well: how individual word meanings can shift when the words (or particles) are used in collocations with other words?

A better question is, How do you harmonize Matthew here with Mark?
